There is a need for the Rinki online magazine, a fact confirmed by a reader survey conducted in summer 2021. Eighty-two percent of respondents consider the Rinki magazine to be either very or fairly useful and almost 60 percent say that they read the magazine's articles as soon as it is published.
In terms of content, readers are most interested in articles about current Finnish and EU legislation and stories about various companies as well as news, statistics and facts related to producer responsibility, sorting and recycling of packaging. The respondents like the current structure of articles in the Rinki online magazine, and almost all of them are happy with the length of the articles.
Most readers – more than 75 percent – are happy with the current publication frequency of five times a year and do not wish to find the Rinki online magazine and the related newsletter in their inbox more often. However, just over 15 percent of respondents said they would like the content to be published online in a news-like manner, as soon as an article is completed.
The open responses highlighted a wish to see more extensive articles on EU legislation and practices as well as on an overall picture of how sorting is carried out in various countries. People would also like to read about the views of various authorities and decision-makers on producer responsibility, as well as articles on the entire recycling chain and the relationship between the various parties involved in it.
We'll use the survey results to make the Rinki online magazine and newsletter even better in early 2022. The survey was taken by 250 readers, 80 percent of whom work in producer-responsible companies that are members of Rinki.
