Heli Satuli, M.Sc., has been appointed the new Communications Manager of Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd. Satuli has extensive experience in communications and lobbying both in Finland and in Brussels.

Satuli has previously worked as a journalist and EU correspondent for Aamulehti, Kauppalehti, Nykypäivä and MustRead. She has also worked as Communications Manager at the Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa, in Outokumpus Corporate Communications and as an advisor to former Prime Minister Alexander Stubb in the European Parliament.

Satuli joins Rinki as Communications Manager and a member of the management team from the position of Head of Communications at the Finnish electric vehicle charging platform company Virta (Liikennevirta).

Rinki is at the centre of megatrends such as climate change, urbanisation and circular economy. Its hard to find a more relevant and interesting sector. There are big challenges ahead: the new waste legislation and the EU regulations will significantly increase packaging producers responsibilities and costs in the coming years. The sector will also play a bigger role in society. Rinki has the expertise and skills to take on the challenge, but all Finnish people must get involved so that packaging gets recycled, says Heli Satuli, Communications Manager at Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd.

Were delighted to have our team reinforced by a communications professional. Recycling is based on sorting at the place of origin, so communication will play a key role as the targets become more stringent. Companies with producer responsibility will also require more information as the requirements become tighter, says Juha-Heikki Tanskanen, CEO of Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd.
