Rinkis training event on the reporting of packaging data was held online on 21 October 2020. The reporting procedure will be renewed for 2021, and this will cause additional work for many companies. In order to facilitate the companies reporting efforts, Rinki revised the reporting guidelines and organised a training event to explain them.

The live event gathered a large audience: at its busiest, it had as many as 1,000 viewers. The training session consisted of pre-recorded speeches as well as live question and answer sections. Juha-Heikki TanskanenRinkis CEO, gave an overview of the revised Waste Act.

Maija PeltolaRinkis Customer Service Manager, spoke about packaging statistics, changes to the reporting procedure and the new reporting guidelines. Many questions concerned the new requirements, such as the material-specific issues in the reporting and the differences between consumer and B2B packaging.

A link to the recording of the training event can be found on Rinkis extranet service together with written summaries of the most important questions and answers presented at the training event. The pre-recorded speeches have English subtitles, and you can also find English translations of the presentations and written summary of the questions and answers on the extranet.

Minute-long videos were made of some of the questions answered at the event, and these can be viewed on Rinki’s YouTube channel.
